Had a plan for a shower cake for a friend at work- now the shower will be for another co-worker as well. Already started making gumpaste decorations (shoe and bows and calla lillies)- so wanted to keep the same theme. I wanted her to have the option of keeping the top tier with the gumpaste shoe, etc. intact- she's having a small family shower and they are not having a cake for her there- 'Mom' didn't think she needed it- long story. So I still want to have the small top tier separate for her to maybe have at the other shower. But wondered how it would look to have two small round tiers on a bottom round. Would be open to other suggestions. I don't want to slight the other girl- so want the two to be the same. Making two whole is way too much cake. Also wanted the cake to have a wedding cake feel because 'Mom' is just having sheet cakes for the wedding- she's upset about that.

I love that you are able to draw out how you want your cake to look beforehand! So cool. I love your ideas too. It looks like it will be a great cake. And so nice that you'll be giving her the tiered cake she won't be having at the wedding.

Thanks. Yah, she's bummed about the whole wedding cake issue- I even offered to do it for cost, but Mom had other ideas. I think Mom is punishing her because she did the baby first thing! Oops!
Anyway, to add the other girl to the cake I think I'll offset my layers, and add a second gumpaste shoe on the lower level too. The lining of each shoe has the bride-to-be's name on it. Hope it doesn't look too crowded. I may have to go with a 10 inch bottom layer to give me some extra room.
Any suggestions welcome!
