I have to make a graduation cap cake for a table centerpiece. The problem is the mother wants the mortar board to be made of cake, not just a fondant covered board. Is it possible to stack a square cake on top of a double layered round?!?

Such a thick mortar board? I don't think it'll look right! I'd try to get her to reconsider since it'll be so thick and won't even look like a mortar board!!! She probably didn't even consider that, I'd give her a call. Tell her you only want to give her your best work and want her table to look good!
