I am VERY new to this whole thing. However, I have an idea and want to get the experts opinion on how to make this work.

I love the flowerpot 3D cake that is featured in the articles section. I want to combine the flowerpot part of it with some cookie flowers...

Here is my idea (I need to do this for next week for my child's class)...

I want to make the cake sculpted flowerpot (just one not the two shown in the article) -- the cake will be filled with buttercream for extra firmness and sculpted pot will be covered/decorated in fondant.

I then want to make decorated cookies on sticks. I am going to die the sticks green to look like stems.

The trick is I want to insert them in the cake top like flowers growing in the pot -- I am concerned that the flowers will not stand upright because of their weight and will tip over in the cake. Yes or no?

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help or advice!!!

I made one like that and my flowers were to heavy for the cake, cracked my cake all up. So I'd be real interested too.
Thanks

I've done cookies on sticks and put them into cakes before without a problem. I did put the sticks pretty far into the cake, though, to "hold" it in place.

good luck!
