hiya,

usually i use all of my fondant up but ive got some left, right now its wrapped in cling film and that keeps it fresh for a little while i find but it soon goes hard. just wondered if there is another way i can store it? for example could it be frozen?

also is there a good way to keep cakes fresher for longer? rite now i just wrap them in aluminium foil but i would like to be able to make them a way in advance to save me time and give me more time for the decorations.

thanks for any help you can give!

Place the fondant into a sealed food bag (like a sandwich bag) . Then inside another. Then place in to an air tight container. Will stay freash for ages. Fondant cant be put in the fridge or freezer.

great thanks! im glad you told me!

ive just been looking around and ive heard people reference freezing their cakes so i take it its ok! do you cut them to shape before you freeze them or freeze them whole? also how long do you have to defrost them before icing?

also ive seen people talking about crumbing the cakes?? what is this??

thanks for your help, im self taught so trying to learn more!
