There are tons of pirate themed stuff in the galleries. Did you check there? I have seen some awesome things in there.

Uhhh...what the heck is a smashcake? icon_confused.gif

Was actually looking for instructions on how to do a treasure chest cake and this came up in the search.

I had to ask! icon_lol.gif

A smash cake is a very small cake made especially for the birthday boy/girl, which normally gets smashed and most of it ends up in their hair and on thier faces icon_lol.gif

I just did a pirate themed cake, its in my pics! There are alot of other ideas in the gallery also.

I did a pirate cake in September. It's in my photo's. It's of an island with water, sand and X marks the spot and a pirate digging for treasure!

OH! I know what that is! Just never new it had a name. icon_lol.gif

I've done a gallery search and there are so many clever pirate theme cakes.

I'm still a beginner and don't want to get overwhelmed. The treasure chest LOOKS easy...but, nothing is every easy for me! icon_cry.gif

Recently I made a Cupcake Stand of Pirate cakes for my neighbor's son. We covered the base of the stand with plastic gold coins and everyone was handed out a black eye patch. Below is a picture (not very clear unfortunately).

I am doing a Pirate theme for my sons bday in a few months too. I have been trying to think of ideas. Doesn't help when you can't search the gallery. Here are some really cute pirate cookies that would be cute as cupcakes.

There is also a couple of pages in the Wiltons Cupcake fun book that have Pirate ideas.

Good luck icon_smile.gif

This is only an idea for pirate party. When my daughter had a pirate party for her son's 6 th. birthday, kids of different ages from 3 to 9 attended.
She knew some kids didn't read yet, so she didn't want to leave "notes" around to try and find the "treasure chest". Instead about a week before the party, she walked around her property and took pictures of various objects (mailbox, a bush, the unbrella table, a flower pot, etc.)

Then she had the pics developed, inserted a picture in a envelope. The day of the party she went around and hid the envelope in each one of those spots. She kept 1 envelope to start the game and handed it to the youngest player, he opened it and seen the picture of the maibox, the whole party ran to the mailbox, the player open the box and inside was another envelope, for the next player to open, this went on from spot to spot until everyone had a turn. The last envelope was handed to the birthday boy, when they got to the designated spot, there were no more envelopes, but a "treasure chest" filled with the pirates gold chocolate coins, sweetart necklaces, party favors, etc. Each child was handed a treat bag to fill. Naturally the weather can play a big part in this, so prepare yourself for indoor hunt too.
