I'm to do a cake next week for a lady who has specifically told me that she doesn't want any flowers....no theme or anything was given so I'm sort of stuck. If anyone has any ideas for decorating this cake, I would really appreciate it.

dots or stripes are always fun looking - i've also seen confetti....that gives a nice pop to the border. maybe someone can show you some examples. best of luck.

Maybe a diamond impression mat, with beads? Check out the galleries for great ideas!

Or you could do a pretty cake with scrolls. If you type in "scrolls" and do a gallery search, there are some really pretty tiered ones.

I like the impression mat idea with the beads suggested by lsawyer and also the picture posted by socake showing the same. Simple but, elegant.

Is the cake for a birthday? For an adult?
