I believe that you just use a spatula to swirl and lift to make the little peaks. Maybe someone else can help?.......bump

It said in the description that it was a boxed fluffy frosting mix... but that it didn't taste good.

As far as looks go, I think it looks the same as "7 minute frosting" which is a cooked frosting. It is glossy, and white like this is, and you can make swirls. Or try searching for fluffy frosting.

Hope this helps. Good luck. It is a beautiful cake.

Here is a sample recipe (not tried) just from a quick internet search.

Fluffy White Frosting

Use this frosting for just about any cake. This recipe will make enough to frost 2 layers.
INGREDIENTS:

2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup water
2 teaspoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
PREPARATION:

Combine all ingredients except vanilla in the top of a double boiler over boiling water. Beat with electric mixer for about 7 minutes, or until mixture will stand in stiff peaks. Beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

I've seen something similar done with the back of a large spoon.
