What Size Is A Full Sheet Cake?

Is is 12x18 or 16x24?? I'm getting a Lot of orders for full sheet cakes and I'm not sure if I need to do 2 12 x 18 or one 16x24 - I'm lost!!! icon_redface.gif

I was told today by a bakery AND a cake supply store and even called Wilton, because I always thought the 12x18 was a half sheet and it's not it's a 3/4 sheet....I am making 2 12x18 cakes to make into one for a retirement party this week..... and I am so nervous! I have gone out and bought a huge cake box, and even had hubby go to Lowes and by some wood to support the cake.... I will cover it of course, but I also have a cake cardboard piece from the cake supply store and a parchment looking dollie... I guess the way I see it now is I am making a 1 1/2 sheet cake. SO GOOD LUCK TO YA~

2- 12x16 or 11x15 is a full sheet
12x18 is 3/4 sheet
11x15 or 12x16 is half sheet
9x13 is 1/4 sheet

Actually a full sheet pan is 18*26
bake two ~12*18 pans

Full sheet pan Standard 24x16x2
3/4 sheet pan- 18X12X2
Half sheet pan Standard 16x12x2
Quarter sheet pan Standard 13x9

These measurements are based off of commercial baking guidelines and what the stores and bakeries use for their baking sheets.

Thank you so much everyone for your help!! One more question - This is on the number of servings - how many will they serve?

11x15 or 12x16 - 30
12x18 - 48
2-11x15 - 60

Is this correct - if not please let me know.

just think of it this way..... 1.5 feet x 2 feet.

O.K., I don't have a 16x24 pan so I can do two 11x15's correct? and this will serve 60?

A full sheet will feed 90-96 peeps if you cut it into 2x2 inch pieces. And yes you can use two half-sheets (as it were) and glue em together on the long sides to make a full sheet. Only way that I know of doing it.

I think I am going to have to change my pricing and charge $40 for a full sheet. (I was charging $35). Those are the going prices here in my area.

o hun, you can get away with round bout 15 bucks more than 35. Walmart charges 34.87 for a full sheet cake. You can charge about 45 -50 for a full sheet hun. You can always go higher than walmart. Because for one reason is.... they are obligated to be the lowest price in town. And two you can take longer to do your cake and get it perfect.
