Has anyone used the Wilton Beautiful Gumpaste Flowers Kit? Its about $19.99 in stores and comes with an instruction book.

I'm just wondering if that is all I need and is it worth it?
(I took all 3 Wilton Courses)

Thank you.

The kit is ok...but you don't get clean edges and I don't really care for the instruction book. If you just want to play around then buy it when it is coupon time...dont' pay full price for it..

It's a beginner package. It's o.k. If you have the extra cash and plan on staying with this hobby I would buy a nicer set. The plastic ones don't cut as clean.

I bought the kit for the book alone. Definitely go with the stainless steel tools instead of Wilton's plastic ones.
I'd also love to know if there's a better instructional book out there.

I agree with the previous posts. I have this set and the edges never look clean. I haven't really gotten into life-like gumpaste flowers yet; although I would love to soon.

I bought the wilton kit about a week ago and was glad I did. I didn't want to spend a fortune on something the first time I was trying it out. Now that I've had a chance to try it out I've decided that it is something I enjoy and am really good at it. The book covers quite a few flowers I didn't have a problem with the instructions. You will notice right away the tools and cutters are poor quality. I will probably end up getting the nicer tools, collecting as I go. For me the problem has been going out getting everything I need for a project spending too much money, deciding I hated it and then never using it again.

Do not pay full price for it if you really want it - Use a coupon!

I purchased the kit and agree with the other CC members, the plastic does not cut through the gumpaste/fondant with clean edges.

I have to use my rolling pin to get the correct amount of pressure to produce a "some what" clean edge on the larger cutters.

I think I have only uesed about 4 of the flowers, but I get the results I want for now.

I really don't regret purchasing the flower set because it came with some of the other tools that you need, but I'm glad I didn't way full price.

I have this kit..but I haven't used it yet. My mom picked it up for me brand new at a garage sale for 50 cents! Hopefully I'll get to try it out soon.

I wondered if it was very good and worth the money, I think I will wait for coupin time. I would be glad for an instruction booklet to tell me how to make the flowers. I sure love this site! All the members who ask the questions I am wanting to know the answers, and for EVERYONES opinions.
