I'm making a pizza shaped cupcake cake and have no idea what to use for the sauce? the only thing that comes to mind is use buttercream on the cupcakes and use a red shade food dye. Any suggestions. Please HELP!!!!

You could make red BC or what about strawberry/raspberry preserves or jelly? Maybe strawberry would be more red instead of pink. or cherry pie filling?

You could try buying a jar of apple butter and adding some red and a touch of orange coloring to it...would give a little apple flavor and would be about the consistancy of pizza sauce!!

What about pudding with red/orange food coloring?? I've never tried it--but it might work.

I have made 2 spaghetti cakes and used seedless strawberry jam for the sauce, worked great!
