What other uses does the sports ball pan has?
I made 3 cakes last wknd. My sister showed up w/two. so i had the ball already done, not frosted or decorated. what can i make with it? anything creative, yet simple? I hate to throw it out, we are all done w/eating so much cake. i'd like to maybe decorate it and bring it into work or send it to my neice.
thanks,
Kat

As a whole ball it can also be a globe, an ornament, a head (face), a snow globe, etc. As a half ball it can be used as hills, skirts for a doll cake (if you don't have the wondermold), faces, football helmet, etc. There's lots of uses for it!!!

The pan itself can also work as a great double boiler for dipping cake balls in chocolate. It fits perfect over a 1-1/2 qt saucepan. Since you have two sides, you can have regular and white chocolate melted.

How about an octopus, tea pot or fish bowl?
Someone has a picture posted of Mikey from Monster's INC.

for neice:

trim off a bit so it won't roll away, add a handle and frilly girly things and turn in to a purse cake.

for work:

crumble up and make cake balls!

I made a basinette cake recently (still waiting on the 35mm pics) and used 1/2 of one side of that pan for the hood of the basinette (used the small 7" ovals for the base of it) turned out adorable.

If you have the mini ball pans, half of the large ball pan can be the body, and the mini pan can be the head. You can make a bumble bee, just add wings and black and yelow stripes. You can also make a ladybug.
