i'm trying to figure out how i would get this color brown. the "C's" would be easy enough but i'm having trouble with the actual color of the purse, as well as the tan handles. i thought i would just add a touch of brown to the fondant but that didn't work, the colors are nowhere near the same. does anyone know how i would achieve these 2 shades of brown? thanks!

Are you covering it in fondant? If so, could you use a luster dust in brown and then make the dark bown accents with no lusterdust...

thanks! yes, i'm making it out of fondant. i'm not able to get any luster dust for another week as the nearest cake store is a few towns over. i was hoping to achieve this color with just mixing some other colors together, just not sure which ones!

It looks textured...

Reminds of doing chocolate sculptures. We used a paint sprayer filled with cocoa butter after masking off areas we didn't want covered.

You might not have those things, but it's just another way of looking at it.

Perhaps you can airbrush a tan/off white over the brown fondant for a speckled/textured effect?

I think the color is a little different than the bag in my pics, but I started with a dark brown chocolate clay and added white MMF to it to get the color of the bag, and then more fondant to get the light brown. It looks like the color has a touch of grey in it to, so maybe adding a dot of black once the basic color is achieved may be needed.
Not sure if this helps,
Diane

That is exactly what I did. I had a dark choc clay, or you could use choc fondant, and added a little white MMF for the bag color, and more MMF for the handles.
