I am making a pound cake for a 3 tier stacked wedding cake. I have only made pound cake from a mix previously. I am looking try a pound cake reciepe from scratch however I noticed they all call for a bunt pan. Am I correct to assume I can make a pound cake from scratch and place in a 14' round also? I have used mix and made 9' with no problem, is there a difference?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

You can usually easily convert to other pans, but just watch how they grease and flour, if at all, in the recipe. That is very important. Some cakes need to cling to the sides of the pan without oil to rise.

Here is a good conversion chart I use all the time;
