i will be making cupcakes using the wilton recipe chocolate fudge groom's cake. is there a difference in baking time? (35-40 mins) and will i use the same oven temperature? (350 F) or, after how many minutes do i start checking if it's done already? thanks!

you always bake cupcake in a shorter amount of time.
Like 35 mins for cake I would go 20 -25 mins for cupcakes, then check them to see if they are done.

oh, i have a follow-up question: how much batter do i use? 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 the muffin cup? i'm sorry if you think it's a stupid question. i think i would screw it up if i tried to figure it out by myself. thanks again!

I fill mine 2/3 full to get a nice dome on top.

Not sure if it is to late or not, but for a fairly flat surface on the top of my cupcakes and just a little above the cupcake paper I put in 3T (it is the amount the largest cookie scoop from Pampered Chef holds)

HTH

thanks for your added input leily! since i live in germany, i'm not sure if the cupcake cups we have are the same size (should be though). but i will keep in mind the 3 tbsp. of batter while i'm working. perhaps that is the precise measurement i need for consistent sized cupcakes.
