Ok. Another pricing question. ok, I lied. There are several. icon_wink.gif I know you are all tired of these, but here goes:

I know that everyone has there base price for a basic cake. But where do you go from there? My 9X13 are $25, 11X15 are $30.
What happens when you start to do double layers?
How about torting?
What about a filling added to those, do you charge X amount for a filling or does it depend on the type of filling?
How about it you tort 2,3,or 4 times and fill with all the same filling? Different fillings?
I deal with bc and have not dove into fondant. Do you have different prices when you do fondant vs. bc?

I thank everyone for all their help in advance. These are just general questions. Since I am starting to have more orders, I need to have an idea where to go with this. My apologies for the length of these questions.

I wish I could help you but I seem to have the same problem. I would probably charge $50 for a 9x13 double layer cake and if you are torting and filling just charge an extra amount for that.
Sorry, I know I'm not much help. icon_redface.gif

i calculated my costs for materials and my labor (assuming my time is worth $10/hr) then I put it in a spreadsheet and calculated the cost for each type of cake based on the icing/covering combinations because that's where the bulk of my expense is soooo....I'm going to try to attach it for you all to reference. Hope it helps!
