Hi all!

I know that this is going to mainly a vent, but I had a gal who called a week or so ago and asked for a cake for today. I told her that I still had availability. She said that she didn't know for how many or exactly what she wanted. I told her that as long as she let me know by Wed. at the latest that we would be fine. Well, she calls yesterday at 4:30pm and wanted to order a sculpted cake in the shape of a fish, done in camaflouge(probably spelled wrong)no less. I called her back and explained that since I hadn't heard from her that I was not going to be able to do a cake for her. I tried to find someone else, but on mothers day weekend, no luck. She then went to the bakery that I work for part time and went on how her decorator refused to do her cake. My friends all laughed at that! they already knew the story.

I just can't believe some people. She also was put out that I didn't call her back. I told her that I don't have time to chase down customers and they really need to get in touch with me and give me some notice on orders. I apoligized and tried to give her some suggestions.

Do you think that I was wrong?

Thanks for letting me vent.

Dawn

Yeah , you were definetly right. I have had customers who do that too and I say sorry I can not work with that in the time frame you give me.

She doesn't appreciate the time it takes to sculpt a cake. I wouldn't worry about her anymore! I don't see that you mishandled the situation. She should have been more on top of things and called you early on like you asked her to. icon_wink.gif
