Since I've purchased the printer and edible ink, it seems like everyone wants edible images! Don't get me wrong....I like to do them, but there is a limited amount of creativity with them!

Has anyone else experienced this??? And if so, what did you do to remedy the situation....if anything.

In my opinion, the possibilites are endless! I just love the freedom that the edible images give me. Pictures or clipart can be manipulated in so many different ways. My favorite thing is to take a persons photo and put it on a cartoon body.....something specifically related to that person. To add more creativity sometimes I will do background scene with the edible image and then add fondant accessories for more dimension. I just did a beach theme for the background, manipulated it to match the person's party plates, then added a MMF surfboard and different MMF flowers to match the plates as well.

I saw this on the Atlanta news yesterday.
A local bakery was taking a child's artwork, scanning it onto an image, and placing it on a cake for mother's day. The cake they had on display was the cutest thing ever. I think I'd cry if I got my daughter's artwork on a cake. icon_cry.gif I thought it was so personal.

Now I never considered doing things like that with the edible image pics. Its actrually a really cool way to individulize the cakes. I am hoping to have a printer ect for it by the end of the year. I will remember that.

I think it's just one of those things. When there is something new(ish) and exciting, people all want it. Like any trend, it will eventually level out - and you'll be dealing with the new "really cool thing" icon_smile.gif. I know what you mean though. It can get repetitive and take the fun and creativity out of the creating!!! Hang in there and take comfort in all the happy customers you have!
