Has anyone made a wedding cake with a cream cheese frosting? If so, would you please share your recipe with me? I have a bride requesting it for her cake, but I have only made wedding cakes with Buttercream. I just made a cream cheese frosting for the first time tonight, but I can already tell that it is not going to hold up! It seems to be very heavy and doesnt seem like it will be easy to work with. Help! Thanks in advance!!

is there anyway that you can thin it a bit, or maybe try another recipe?

I've used a cream cheese icing on a stacke birthday cake before and it worked fine.

What is your recipe? If your using the new improved Crisco as your shortening that could be the problem because my current recipe won't crust with the new Crisco.

i'm going to bump you because my recipe is super heavy and seems to just slide down the cake.

i found a recipe online for 1 8oz pack of cream cheese 1 stick of butter and 1lb of confectioner's sugar. it tastes ok but i can't work with it at all. I have to add alot of sugar just to get it stiff enough to work with and then it;s too sweet

This is the recipe I used minus the lemon extract. Does anyone have a different recipe that worked for them on a stacked cake?

8oz cream cheese
1lb powdered sugar
1stick real butter
1t vanilla
1/2-3/4t lemon extract
