Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how I can color paint my decorations from the baby mouldings I've made. I made some baby pins. baby umbrellas, carriages etc. all eatable size from white chocolate in chocolate molds and want to make them colorful. I purchased the Gourmet writers, but they don't work too well on chocolate coating nor do they come in most colors I need. Can I use food coloring instead and how? Any suggestions? Your feed back would be greatly appreciated.

I know they make colors just for chocolate, but I have never used them, I don't know if you can paint them on after the chocolate is already molded. Hopefully someone else with more experience can tell you.

If you want to paint the whole mould you do it before you put the chocolate in. You color your choc. and paint the the inside. You can use a small tip to pipe the color in if you want and then use your small brush to smooth it out. After it hardens then you put the rest of the choc in. If it is just a matter of painting the facial features then you can just tip a toothpick in your choc. and do it that way. You have to experiment a little. www.sugarcraft.com may have some instructions on their site or you might just try googling painting chocolate instructions and see what you come up with. Probably if you email Diane Shavkin she will get back to you. Or go to her site you will find it. Her site is great just keep scrolling and exploring. She has instructions for everything. www.shavkin.com

Since you've already molded them... If you have extras...I would try melting some colored candy melts, put them in parchment triangles with the tip snipped and putting the details on that way.
