I have been having tons of issues with my printer clogging on the print head. icon_cry.gif So I'm trying to find the best kind of cleaning to use. I have found one that has a syrige and solution and another that a sponge type utensil and reconditioner and solution. So I thought I'd ask, what do you use for cleaning out your print heads. What seems to work the best. Thanks for your opinions/help!!

I only use the Scunci (sp?) steam cleaner to clean my printheads. I've never needed to use a commercial cleaner. Any hand held steamer that has a pointed nozzle will work. It can be messy, but I put the print head down in the sink and steam each of the nozzles until they run clear. Works like a charm!!

I bought those cleaner cartidges but those did not seem to do much. I then bought one of those steam cleaners. I guess it works but I still have major issues even after I have cleaned it 4 or 5 times. I have wasted so much ink just trying to get one picture printed correctly. I am so ready to throw it out of the window!!
I have now kind of given up on my printer.
Unless someone has a better way to clean it!!

Sorry, I can't help you with the Cannon. I have an Epson. Maybe somebody else can help you with this one.

Thanks so much for the steam cleaner advise. I went to Kmart and bought a little household one and it worked wonders. Thanks! I was covered in ink when it was done, but my test print came out ok. I haven't done an image yet because of course I am out of ink and need to order it.

oh yes! Let me tell you, the first time I used the steam cleaner I had ink everywhere! On my face, on the kitchen walls, countertop, everywhere!
Come to think of it, that still happens!!! icon_lol.gif

My husband was making a cup of coffee today (I did the cleaning in the kitchen sink) and he asked me if I had done the cleaning near the coffee cups. Oops, they have blue/black spots all over them.
