A friend at work is moving away in a couple of weeks and I want to make her a special cake. I am not opposed to making a basketweave with tons of flowers on top (we work in the office for a landscaping company, so flowers are good) but would like any ideas you could offer. My bf suggested shamrocks for good luck, but I don't want it looking too much like a St. Patty's Day. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance!
Becky

Where is she moving? Could you somehow play off where she going?

This may not be at all what you had in mind, but...

One of my friends is moving from a town in southern Missouri to Kansas City. I'm going to cut a sheet cake into the shape of Missouri, put fondant stars to mark her current town and her new town, pipe a little road, and add a toy car 'driving' towards Kansas City. Then I'll just pipe "Good Luck! We'll Miss You!"

Just a thought!

how about a small suitcase cake?

or a cake with a flower garden on top, surrounded by a picket fence with rambling roses, and a walking path of "stones" through the middle, signifying her journey through life?

or the "rose trellis" idea, in the cake bible?
