I am relatively new to cake decorating (since january) I live in Pennsylvania and I need some information on what I would need to do to open a shop, and get lisences and all that stuff here. If you have any info send me an email at [email protected] Thanks!!!!!
Me too, please.... a friend of mine is going to buy a home soon, and he is giving me the gift of a in-home area to use as a bake shop-- IF we can find it..... but i'm not sure what the guidelines are for an in-home bakery. Rumor has it-- NO pets at all.... triple sink, dedicated storage, Seperate entrance/exit (ie- not the front door of the house) Any ideas?? I'll appreciate any help--

check out your states website...start googling, and you'll get your answer. in tennessee, you can have a home bakery, but it has to be a seperate kitchen from the one you serve your family in...looks like i won't be official for several more years.
good luck!
Check out this thread. It's super long, but has great info.

Hey yall, don't place your email addy's here. To out in the open. Have people pm you and give it out then. Just to be secure. Any ways there was place here on CC that gave you places to look in each state. Hope you all find what you are looking for.
Thank you guys soo much!!! Looks like I won't beable to base my business out of my home, too many animals, and I dont have enough land to build a second kitchen. But does anyone know how long I could keep selling cakes out of my house, until I start making enough money to get a shop? Thanks guys!!! sorry for all the questions.
