With a lot of people lately mentioning that they have been having trouble accessing pictures, etc, and with the banners asking for donations, I've been thinking a lot about how difficult it has to be to keep this site running smoothly and keep it free for all of us. Well, that led me to thinking about how I would actually pay for my membership, because I love this site that much. Of course, I know that Heath and Jackie have made it very clear that they want to keep this site free for us, but I've also been thinking...maybe there's a way to have an "upgraded" membership for a small fee? Maybe $2 monthly, or $20 a month, or something along those lines? I don't know what the "CC Gold" membership would include, but maybe paid members would be able to also view Lounge discussions on our homepage, maybe we'd be able to sort watched topics into categories such as "new techniques", "personal", "my topics", etc.
I don't know if this has been discussed before, and I'm certainly not trying to step on anyone's toes, but I'd really like to know--how many of you would be willing to pay a nominal fee to keep this site running better, and if you were willing to pay for an upgraded membership, what would you want that membership to include?
I can completely understand that, as my DH is the only one working at this time, also. If a membership could be as reasonable as $2 or so per month, though, I would figure out a way to scrape together the change. 
I do realize that not everybody COULD pay for a membership, and that's why I'm SO thankful that Heath and Jackie work so hard to keep this place up and running for us for free.

IF anyone wants to pay every month, we now have an option in the donations section that allows you to create a subscription so that the donation is charged automatically each month.
We really don't want to get into paid memberships, it opens up a whole range os issues we don't want to deal with. We really appreciate that there are a group of members who would be willing to pay for upgraded options, but at this time we would really like to have all members on the same program and not have to differentiate between free members and paying members.
It is a good idea to donate every month what you could afford to pay for a membership. I'll do that!

Whew! LOL!! I do think CC is definitely worth it though.
