Cake ?

Must I use a pound cake recipe in a sports ball pan? Or can I use a regular recipe?

I have used a regular cake recipe in the sports ball pan and it has been fine.

Just used a DH strawberry mix and it turned out fine, have done yellow and white also. They recommend the pound cake to hold the weight of the odd shape. As long as your cake isn't really light and airy you should be fine.
