I am wanting to make the pistachio cake recipie posted here on cc but all I have on hand is butter recipie golden will this work or should I stick to the recipie?

I have read of people substituting butter for the oil in a boxed mix recipe, to make a butter cake, so I do not see why you cannot do the reverse. If you read the recipes and ingredients on both types of mixes, you will see that the type of fat used is the only difference. Use whatever amount of oil is used in a regular boxed mix, which I believe is 1/3 cup.
