I'm making a cake for a military retirement party for about 110 people. They have requested an edible image pic of him and of course military logo's. I guess my question is how would you lay this out? A tiered/stacked cake or sheet cake. I was thinking tiered because of the amount of people. Any ideas would be most appreciated!

what I think would be really cool.......would be maybe do a 3 tiered cake (sizes dependent upon servings you need to get) and around the bottom cake have some photos of this guy (small...like wallet sized) all around the cake on the sides....maybe his school photos of him growing up.......then middle tier....photos of him getting married and such.......and the top tier all photos of him in the military....or military emblems around.......or do a nice military emblem as the topper!!

When you do a tiered cake do you just put a dowel down the middle to secure?
