I loved every minute of it. icon_biggrin.gif I didn't carve the whole thing, I used the Wilton cruiser cake as a base and added/carved from there. Now I'm looking for an excuse to make another birthday.gificon_lol.gif

Oh, is that what Luigi looks like! I have no little ones anymore, so we don't watch many animated flicks.

Your attention to detail is great. Good work!

that is an awesome cake!!!! wow.......I'm so glad your first carving attempt went so well, I always feel so bad for people when they have a miserable first attempt and they never want to try it again!!! Carving cakes it so empowering when you get done and it actually looks like what it was supposed to look like lol. Then you realize once you can carve, the sky is the limit!!! You don't have to rely on finding a certain shaped pan to make a certain cake. Kudos to you for such a wonderful cake and an amazing first time carving!!!!

That is great!

My first time was just awful. But I just didn't think it through. Should have used a pound cake and stiff filling (or none at all)

But I won't be defeated!!!! icon_twisted.gif

I will be trying it again on a less ambitious sombrero project.
