If I have made Alices cookie icing right how long will it take it to dry? I had to add more water than what was called for, weve had nasty weather so that may have something to do with it. TIA Jackie
I made Alices cookie icing several weeks ago and it never dried fully. I too had to add more water than it called for because I wanted it to "flow" onto the cookies. I never did get it thin enough. It hardened after about 2 days but it was still soft underneath the hardened layer. Does not harden like royal icing.
I know this sounds crazy but if I put them in front of a fan do you think that would help them to dry quicker? I have to have them ready to go in the morning .
Jackie,
Search the posts, I am sure that about 1-2 weeks ago there was a thread about people drying their cookies in a low oven for about 2 hours. They were saying how shiny and pretty it made the icing turn out. I think they set the oven around 180, but am not sure.
Good luck!
Thank you CakesByEllen for that thread .Unfortunatly it applies to Royal Icing though, Alices is a little bit different it has butter in it so I dont know if it would work ,maybe someone else has tried it ?
