I am going to make filled cupcakes for a friend's baby shower and I am looking for a knock-out flavor combo. Any ideas?
Thanks so much for sharing!

How about cream cheese frosting in a chocolate cupcake; or orange buttercream in a dark chocolate cupcake (can you tell I like chocolate cake? lol). For Vanilla cake, how about a chocolate buttercream filling? This one reminds me of a chocolate Kreme Dunkin' Donut.... ahhh memories icon_lol.gif

I like the white almond sour cream cake with raspberry filling--yum! Top with almond buttercream and toasted slivered almonds. The chocolate version is good too--but if the allergy thing pops up then take out the almond extract and almonds on top.

Thanks Spencer Sweets. The coconut buttercream filling sounds like a great idea, too, Rambo! icon_biggrin.gif

Vanilla cupcake, Bavarian cream/vanilla pudding, chocolate ganache buttercream for a little Boston Cream cupcake

Tiramisu inspired cupcake would be good...maybe a vanilla cake, an expresso syrup soak, and then make a marscarpone cheese buttercream.

I just took a large tip and stuck it into the middle of the cupcake and squeezed filling into it. They make special tips just for this, but my big round one (think it's a #5) worked just fine.

Sorry, that should have been chocolate ganache/buttercream. As in either or. Must have been sleepy, lol.
