So I'm covering my cake in a few hours. This is my first attempt
to doing MMF. My question: If it's looks like it has cracks do I keep
kneeding it and add short?
Please anyone HELP?

Yes, if it appears dry and starts to crack/seperate, then knead in a bit of shortening at a time. I usually grease my hands and working it in that way.

If it has cracks you can warm it up a bit too and knead it. That usually softens mine a bit.
