Hello everyone,

I have a whimsical cake to do for next friday. I only need to feed 30-35 people but I don't know what sizes to use for each tier. Any suggestions?

I don't have 4,5 inch pans so I would definitley have to carve top tier.
the second and third I have no clue.

I did one.........only one.........the one in my avatar and it had about 30 servings I would say......nice sized servings....the top was a 4,5,6 and the bottom was a 8,9,10".......but I don't see why you can't do 3 -6" cakes for the top and just carve a little more.

The one ONE I did was small, It was a 4,6 and8 inch. That may be enough cake.

Khalstead I love the cake in your avatar but am totally confused by which cake pans you used! Can you try to explain again which pans you used?

Hi All, Does anyone know if there is a Matrix for a Whimsical cake? Could you just knock off a few servings from the regular amount in a normal sized cake?

Good question foots2, thanks for all the help. what I will do is carve the top tier(personal take home) then figure out size of 2nd and do 8,9,10 for bottom.

This is my first time stacking any suggestions?

Okay I think I get it you put those three sizes together and then carve them to get the angles? I guess I need to go look at the tutorial!
