I am always concerned when using milk or eggs in icing. I guess I am a bit too paranoid..but how long before you should serve a cake with icing containing eggs or milk?

I do not make any with eggs but milk in a buttercream is no problem your cake would be stale or moldy before the frosting went bad....

What type of recipe are you using that has eggs? Check out here on CC and you will find very easy icing recipes that don't use eggs! The best one is the "Crusting Buttercream" Very easy to use and gives you a nice crusted finish after smoothing it out, no eggs!

I haven't used any icing with eggs in it yet i normally just use regular buttercream but I am hesitant to use other recipes because i am worried about making people sick.
