I love the No Fail recipe but would like to make chocolate ones-is there a great recipe like the no fail (dosen't spread-easy to work with, etc) but chocolate? I looked in CC recipes in the 'cookie!' category but didn't see anything interesting...
Someone posted they just substitute 1/2 cup of cocoa for 1/2 cup of the flour. What alot of us use technically aren't named Chocolate No-Fails but they are on this site: http://www.kitchengifts.com/chocolatecookies.html. Chocolate Rolled Cookies. I substitute the coffee, as I don't drink it and never have it in the house with 2 tsp. of vanilla per the Cookie Queen, Antonia . I lower my oven temp. to 325° and bake about 12-15 minutes.
i just made a half batch of the no fail and added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and it was kind of dry and a pain to work with but teh cookies taste YUMMY. I didn't put frosting on yet but I hate frosting anyways.
Yes, cinnamon is actually good with chocolate and they say cayenne pepper is, too but I'll pass on that one!
Thanks for this info, I am going to try replacing the 1/2 cup flour with the cocoa and see how it turns out. Has anyone else besides alicial tried that?
Thanks
I haven't done that, but I have made the chocolate cookies in the link posted by zamode. They are very similar to the No Fail cookies, except chocolate. I love them with or without icing. They are fantastic!!
