I was asked to bake a cake for 100 people. The bride requested the roman column and clear pillars and plates. Does anyone know where the best place to purchase these items? I purchased the white roman column pillar set from Michaels, however, the cake is going to be ivory. Will this look OK, or should I use the clear pillar set?

What pillars and plates do you use for ivory cakes?

Help please,
Jayla

I imagine if the cake is ivory, then clear will look better than white. Could you take them back and swap for clear??

Jayla, I use the clear for almost EVERYTHING..... you don't have to worry about it matching, and especially for a wedding cake, it adds "sparkle".......... Have you tried e-bay? Or if you have coupons, Michael's....... They closed the store close to me, so I can't go there any more ! icon_cry.gif

I just purchased some hidden pillars from

http://www.candylandcrafts.com/

and they have lots of pillars and such, decent prices and fast shipping. I've had good luck with them before!

I'd go with clear too!

Yuupers, see if you can exchange them for clear. If not perhaps you can tea stain them? or just save them for the next occasion and get some clear ones.

Thanks for the help. I purchased the clear ones and I am going to return the white roman column.
