There is nothing like coming home after a long frustrating day (so far - a week and Friday is tomorrow icon_cry.gif ) at work and making a cake!

Trying some new tricks that I have learned from this site... IE: Apple Sauce instead of Oil, adding a Pudding Mix & Sour Cream found in the recipe section... has seem to melt my bad day away!

I made a 6 inch yellow cake with the new tricks learned and some cup cakes with the left over batter to taste test the new recipe when they come out of the oven... Can't wait!

The extra surprise was to come home and find a new can of Old Crisco that I purchased on Monday that I completely forgot about because of such a rotten week.

If tomorrow is crappy, making new BC icing with my Old Crisco should do the trick.

So for those of you who find yourself having a crappy day... Try Cake Therapy! icon_rolleyes.gif

PS.. I also received my first tub of Satin Ice Fondant. I tasted a pinch and agree hands down... it is much better than that Wilton stuff! Can't wait to try the MMF when I get my new mixer!

Thanks to everyone for your tips!

I hear you! I babysit my niece all day and sometimes around this time of night I just make a cake to relax. I just took a chocolate one out of the oven that I added 1/8 c of strong coffee and 4 oz of melted chocolate to. It's my homemade recipe from the BH&G cookbook, so I decided to play with it a bit. I can't wait to cut the edges off and taste it!!!!! I finally found a chocolate cake recip I liked icon_biggrin.gif

I agree. I'm having one of "those" days today and can't wait for DH to get home from work so he can watch the kids so I can "play" in the kitchen. I'm in the mood for something with lemon filling. You can probably tell I'm hungry icon_smile.gif

I so know what you mean. Dh and I have been trying to conceive baby #2 for about a year, and I was really starting to get depressed about 3 months ago. But then I started getting busy with cakes, and I don't think about anything! I get on cakecentral now every spare minute instead of baby sites, and it just helps me soo much. It really is a huge stress reliever....unless of course the cake isn't going the way you had imagined and your running late and you don't know if its going to get done on timeicon_smile.gif

heiser73, I feel for you. I remember those horrid baby sites, makes you totally obsessed. We struggled with no. 2, but he is now 2 1/2 so it does happen even if it takes time. Good luck to you.
