I'm making a lemon poppyseed cake tonight. I use lemon cream cheese icing. I usually alternate a lemon curd filling and a raspberry jam filling. Nothing but compliments. However, I just got back from grocery store. NO seedless raspberry. I want seedless, so I opted for a marion blackberry seedless jam. What do you think of this cake w/alternating lemon curd and blackberry?? Should I:

Go for it???

or

Send DH to another grocery store on his way home for the raspberry???

Anything other suggestions?
thanks so much!!!
Pam

I would go for it, they're similar in flavor to each other so it should work. icon_smile.gif

what a wonderful combo!i'll have to remember it the next time my grandmother needs something...either way sounds right up her alley.

I can't help really on the taste.....deathly allergic to poppyseeds....guess I would have died instead of sleeping in the field of poppies with Dorthy and the Tin Man.....but the combo does sound nice.....and just in case you were wondering...I found out this information by working in a bakery.....ended up in the hospital and the doctor told me...good thing we didn't give you opium to ease the pain; we would have killed you...and started laughing.....it's funny now..not really then....

Just remember when using poppyseeds that anyone who may have a drug test administered within 48-72 hours after eating them, they would test positive for Opium..........and the flavors sound scrumptious!
