Since they might cut larger slices, what about a 14" & a 10". I always seem to make more cake than needed. HTH

According to the Wilton cutting chart for a 12 & a 9 you would get 88 servings. You would also have more room to decorate around the base of the top tier. She may cut larger pieces, but some of the guest probably won't eat any.

I haven't been going by the Wilton chart and there is ALWAYS way too much cake.

HTH

maybe a 14 and a 10... 14 serves 63, and 10in serves 28. they'll probably cut them too big though, so you might want to consider that

Are you doing a round or square? Maybe it will be easier for them with a square cake? Like a 12" and a 10". Just a thought! icon_rolleyes.gif

Check out this page from wilton. It tells the serving sizes of each layer. HTH I think the 9x12 would look just fine. Just tell them that a wedding size is 1x2!!!!!!!!

If you have 14 I would go ahead and do it with that then you will feel more comfy knowing they won't be short.

I use 14/10 for weddings for 100, so you'd definitely have plenty of cake with that one.
