Have you tried Americolor icing colors yet? Once I tried them I never bought another Wilton color again! They are fabulous and have a huge variety of colors. They sell them in the store on this site and the price is really good. Even though you didn't mention it, you've got to try their super red and super black!!!!! No more pinkish or grayish frostings again!!! Here is also the link to their site: http://www.americolorcorp.com/

If they are asking for different colors like that I tend to require a color swatch.. I have learned over the years that one persons idea of plum is different from the next. So a color swatch is the best way to match I think.

totally agree with leily...especially for the clover, I was thinking ok shamrock kind of green, and then she said kind of sagey and I'm thinking wow that's not what I would have compared it to!

Thanks everyone.
I had to give the brides samples cookies today, so I did my best and told them they would have to give me a swatch so I could match it as close as i could.

Good luck!!! Let us know how it works out!! I'm especially curious to hear what shade of green "clover" ended up being. I was also thinking a shamrockish (?) color.

There are also great color mixing charts in the book, The Whimsical Bake House.

They even have a chart for mixing candy melts to make custom colors.
