I was wondering: Can you add a package of pudding to a scratch cake? Do you need to alter the recipe in any way if you do? Any help with this would be appreciatedicon_smile.gif

It depends on the recipe...the kind of cake you're baking but I've added pudding to basic yellow and chocolate scratch recipes without changing anything else. The result was a more dense cake with added flavor. I also bake at 325.

Did the pudding make your cake more moist as well?

Most of the time...if the recipe goes well icon_razz.gif . I made yellow cake using coconut pudding once. Just an experiment to see if the flavor would come through and it dried it out horribly and tasted awful! I don't know what happened but I haven't tried it since.
