I use baking strips for EVERY size (except 6in - I overfill and eat the "muffin top"
)
I normally bake 11x15 cakes. And I learned from CC that you can also use the flower nail in place of the strips. Place the flower nail upside down (with the tip pointing up) in your cake pan and bake. Its worked well so far for me.
I think I will run to walmart tonight and buy some. I would love to get the cake baked and ready to frost before the shower. It is my daughter's baby shower and the more I get out of the way now the better off I am.
Another question - I tried fbct and it just looked terrible, so I did another one, but am using the wrong side as if I did it on the cake. Is there a different way to do this?
I bake my first 12x18 this past weekend and my strips didnt fit around since i only have 2. Anyway, I took advice from someone here and used 2 empty aluminum cans and my only one flower nail. Work perfectly!!! I think next time I will buy more flower nail since I like them better than the strips.
