My niece is making a volcano for a school project. She wants some little trees to put around it (about 1 inch tall or so). But we can't find any plastics ones, so I've been designated the 'creative one' in the family, and they passed the buck to me.
Just to clarify, these do not need to be edible, just look at least vaguely like trees. Does anyone have any ideas how I can make these tiny trees?
TIA!
Things my friends and I used for trees in school:
-Icecream cones
-Taking evergreen branches and cutting them to size. If they are secured with hot glue they stay green for a long time.
-Sea sponge cut to size, painted green, and mounted on a stick.
its been a long time since school but i will post more if it think of them
I'd have little precious explain to the teacher that trees can't grow in the ash of an active volcano, and use charcoal briquettes mooshed down as ash.
Seriously though, if they only need to be about an inch tall, what about those bugles chips painted green, some stacked on top of one another for pine trees. For other vegetation, I'd go with buying some of the green moss filler used in fake plants.
