Hi,

I was wondering for those of you who have used actual ribbon on your wedding cakes, what did you have to do to the ribbon before you put it on the cake? I was just wondering if the ribbon color would bleed into the icing...any help would be greatly appreciated! icon_smile.gif

Some people put wax paper (or something similar) behind the ribbon.

I've attached ribbon with bc, but some on here have said they've used pins.

I don't think the ribbon color would bleed, but I guess it depends. Will you be doing fondant or bc?

I've used ribbon several times and have not had any problems with the ribbon bleeding onto the icing. I don't do anything special to it. I have used it on the sides and even made bows for the tops of cakes. PM me if you have any other questions.

Hi, Iv done it several times and did nothing to the ribbon. As long as you let your buttercream crust over it doenst seem to be a problem, or with me it didnt.
