I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to make carrots on top of carrot cake using icing. I have seen small carrot decorations on carrot cakes that they sell in bakeries and stores but do not know how to go about making them. I would like to put some small icing carrots on my carrot cake with green stems and do not know how to go about doing it. Could someone out there please e-mail me and let me know? Thanks so much any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I would make them out of fondant or gumpaste. With fondant they will be edible and if you haven't used it its like working with play doh. Just color the fondant, mold & let dry. With gumpaste its the same but it will dry rock hard.
If you are wanting to pipe with regular buttercream or royal icing here is a link on how to do that http://www.wilton.com/decorating/basic/carrots.cfm

Good luck!!!!
