Anyone done this? I have a cake for Friday and for some reason I just HATE piping those darn things! I read before that someone had used a paper punch and gumpaste... I went out and bought different sizes of the punches today... any advice before I ruin these things by trying it the wrong way?

Would you mind posting pictures? I am really interested in knowing how you did this. I would have never thought about it.

Ditto...And if you have the time, a tutorial would be most excellent icon_smile.gif

I'm glad the gumpaste worked - I'll have to try it. I read on one of the forums here the other day about a product called sugar veil website: www.sugarveil.com it would be great for that sort of thing. From what I can tell you can buy the premix packets and make it up. Then you spread it thinly and its like a thin rubber sheet, then you can use punches and wavy edged scissors and all sorts on it. I haven't tried it, but that might come in handy if you do a lot of that sort of stuff. thumbs_up.gif

Seriously, its not even worth a tutorial! lol

I just rolled the GP to 7 (on a pasta machine that goes to 9) let it dry about 5 minutes on each side and punched away. It did seem to work slight better as the GO got a little dryer. I just used regula paper punchers from Micahel's. I will post pix of the finished cake in a few days.
