This might seem like a silly question, but I need to know.....I bought the diamond and dot pattern presses from Earlene's cakes (cost me a small fortune after I paid the duties and exchange rates icon_cry.gif )so, I really want to make good use of these now that I have them. I'm not sure if I press the pattern into the mmf before or after I lay it on the cake? Seems if I do it once it's on the cake, it may shift?? If before, then how do it get it to lay nicely without distorting the pattern when smoothing out the fondant? If anyone out there has used these before, I'd love your suggestions. Thanks a bunch.

Here are some instructions...

I think with that pattern (usually used just on the sides), I'd press it after I had the fondant already on the cake and smoothed. Smoothing the fondant first should help it stick to the cake and keep it from shifting.
