I need to make ivory icing. I am very good at making it white but don't think I've ever needed off white. Can I use 1/2 Crisco and 1/2 butter flavored Crisco? I always use all Crisco recipe. Do you think it will come out too yellow??? icon_redface.gif

It does come out yellow with butter flavored cirsco. You might try a tiny drop of the copper food color, that is what I use for a flesh color or you can buy ivory food color.

I use the 1/2 and 1/2 recipe all the time if I don't need pure white. I don't think it's too yellow. You can also buy ivory colouring

Hope this helps!

I use regular (real) vanilla instead of the clear imitation vanilla when I want it to be slightly off white.

Laura.
