Hi,
I do a cake for SAFE once a month for all the kids birthday's. Problem is...I'm running out of ideas.
I was thinking whimsical (never done one) maybe this time, anyone have a pic or ideas they would want to share??

BTW, SAFE is the shelter for abused women and children.

Thanks
Joanne

You've probably already done this, but I would check the gallaries in for the kids birthday cake. There are some really cute and unique cakes there. It might sparks some ideas for you.

My mom works in Ohio at the child and family services welfare, etc. office in the child support dept. and she's involved in the SAFE house they have set up........how wonderfull that you bake cakes for the children.......I'm moving back to Ohio soon, maybe I'll get involved making cakes for them....that would give me a reason to make some cakes and make some kids smile too....thanks for the idea............oh and as for giving you an idea.......um........I think a whimsical cake would be fun.......maybe like a candyland type of cake with all kinds of lollipops and such sticking up out of it....make the kids go crazy LOL

Thanks for the ideas. What a great idea, never thought of a candyland cake, sounds neat. Think I'll try that. I've seen posts on here, they make roses out of bubble gum.
Thanks alot!

Not sure if you saw this candyland cake but it is awesome maybe you can get some inspiration from it

Maybe do a colorful whimiscal cake or just some colorful cakes or Ice cream cake. What ever you give it will be greatly appreciated by one and all.

What a wonderful thing, to donate birthday cakes for the SAFE house! I really like the candyland idea too, I don't have any more input on that, but just wanted to say that I think it's so great that you do that for SAFE.

leana - beautiful cake, but I believe too difficult for me.

Thank you all. I love doing it for them. My family has personal experience with the SAFE house, so it really makes me feel like I'm giving back.

It is a lovely cake but I did not do it. I thought maybe you can pull ideas off it.

Good luck and look forward to seeing the final cake.
