I would think the best way to tell is how many cups of batter your recipe makes or your cake mix makes . A quart = 4 cups so a 6 qt mixer will hold 6x4 0r 24 cupss. Now I would think that would be to the top of the bowl so for mixing space I would think abbout 20 cups would work.
3 batches? Like 3 boxes of cake mix?
If so, then I dont think so....I can get 2 boxes with extenders BARELY in mine
It's a scratch cake, I have done 2 batches before (once) but can't remember how full it got. I have only done a few cakes with this mixer, it's still new. I was even thinking of doing 2 batches in the 6qt and at the same time doing 1 batch in the old 4.5qt. I guess I'll have to do that if it looks like it will not at fit into one mixer.
...LOL...good to know!!!
LOL, OK get a good laugh from me, LOL, I had the mix the whole thing on speed 1 and than mix it by hand.
I had a little bit of flour all the way around the mixer and I had the pour shield on. ![]()

LOL, funny. I did something close to that once. I had just my powder sugar in the bowl (1/2 full) and went to turn it on to 1 and it went all the way to 4, LOL, well the powder sugar went flying out of the bowl. I do the towel over the bowl also, well I do NOW, LOL. ![]()
