I need help finding different sites to look at engagement rings. My boyfriend is really honest and has told me he wants me to pre-screen styles for him to choose from. Our 3 year anniversary is coming up on May 16th and I'm pretty sure he is planning something special for that day.

Here in SoCal we have a huge store called Robbins Brothers and I have gone through that site with a fine toothed comb. Any other suggestions??? I prefer estate jewelry and since my girlfriends dad is a jeweler, I think he might be trying to get ideas so that he can custom design a ring.

Thanks for the help!

well there is kay's .. and zales .. and osterman's .. jareds ... they don't really do estate jewelry but they sure do have some beauties .. and if you get their lifetime warranty you take it in for inspections once every six months and they clean and buff it for you and inspect the diamonds and if any of them are loose they tighten them up for you and if one even falls out they replace it at no cost .. its a wonderful plan and has come into use many times for my ring .. I really couldn't be happier with their customer service ... hope that helps!

My husband took an antique ring that belonged to a friend and showed it to a jeweler who duplicated it. I know it's my wedding ring, but to me it is still the most beautiful piece of jewelry I've seen. The jeweler did such a remarkable job in copying the original design, but then making it strong enough to be gold instead of whatever the other was and having the different color stones in the band. If you're going to have this on your hand for the rest of your life, I say to go ahead, involve the friend's dad, and let your imagination take you where you want.

Katie - my husband lived in Burbank when we were dating and he got my engagement ring at some wholesale place in Burbank. It looks like an office from the outside and he was able to get in b/c he knew someone who knew someone.
Anyway....perfect diamond that was worth way more than what he paid for it....even back then in 1990! You should ask around and see if you know anyone who can get you into a diamond wholesaler. You'll get the best quality at the most affordable price.

This ring sounds very similiar I am trying to stear my BF towards =)

and Congratz Katie! We have been looking at rings so I can tell him exactly what I like and why I like it... Who knows when or what i'll end up with, but I know he'll do a good job now! It did great with my Just because ring.

I've been engaged twice, thankfully the last time was to DH. icon_lol.gif
On my own I just started looking up different jewelry stores in my spare time. Zales, Ostermans, Jared's, Kings.....

Both fella's had a pretty good idea of what I would like by the time they asked me.

I had the big diamond once, but with DH I chose something simple. A little sapphire ring, we're both laid back so it fits!!
