Do you have to use a brown icing color to get brown fondant.. or can you use cocoa powder?

I know you can make chocolate fondant...but I am not sure how you would do it with the cocoa powder, how much you would need, etc.
The Wilton website says to add 4 ounces of melted unsweetened chocolate to a package of their fondant.

Satin Ice makes a chocolate fondant. You can also make candy clay to make roses, etc.

Don't know about you but the ready made chocolate tastes awful, to me anyway.

You can make chocolate fondant buy adding 1 oz melted semi-sweet chocolate and 1 T of cocoa (dutch produces a more pronounced flavor.) It will color a normal batch of fondant just a bit, so you want to add brown gel color to get a deep chocolate color.

I found this past week that it takes a LOT of Wilton to color it brown. Someone else posted that the Americolor gels are best to use.
